Tyler Perry's Temptation; Confessions of a marriage counsellor is the latest movie from the stables of his studio and like most of his other movies, this film was an adaptation of a stage play which he himself also produced.

Judith meets Harley (Robbie Jones), a wealthy Internet entrepreneur who wants to invest in Janice's business. Harley starts to have feelings for Judith and attempts to seduce her most times as they work late together. Harley convinces Judith that her sex life is boring which leads Judith to question her relationship with her husband, Brice.
Well the long and short of it is that there was an affair which later had serious consequences.
The movie in my opinion displayed Tyler's indecision on the kinds of movies he would like to produce in the nearest future. His recent experiment with the action film 'Alex Cross' saw Tyler trying to play the bad cop but trying as much as possible to control obscenity and violence in the movie. The end of the movie Alex Cross was so abrupt that I started to question if I watched a movie in the first place! I guess he was in a hurry to end the film before he is tempted to add anything immoral, just a theory.
It was expected some kind of morality later on in the movie Temptation, but it became so predictable. I have not seen the stage play, but those who did said there was no difference except it had a little humour, thanks to the Madea character (popularly played by Tyler Perry). For example, when Judith started messing around with Harvey, indulging herself in all kinds of illicit activities, her mother tries to intervene with prayers and Brice being troubled over his wife's sudden transformation, it became glaring on where the movie was going...Judith would regret her actions. What I am trying to say is that the BAD ACTIONS PRODUCES BAD CONSEQUENCES WAS TOO OBVIOUS!
A question I need to ask is this, is the world so small that Brandy's ex lover could turn out to be Harvey? Is that what you call a twist, Perry?!
'Temptations: Confessions of a marriage counsellor' features all the morality and religious aspect of a Sunday morning church drama, and making an attempt to introduce it to the big screen was not properly done. We have seen movies that were adaptations of books (Angels and Demons, Godfather, Harry Potter) and one thing that you will surely notice is that some things will be altered, and that was what Tyler's Temptation failed to do.
